Volunteering with Partners In Care

Hospice is the only medical system that is required by law to provide a volunteer component. We look at our volunteers as key components of our Partners care teams.

Volunteer requirements

  • A caring heart and
  • A willingness to give of your time

Volunteer services may include

  • Help run errands or take patients on a short outing
  • Provide brief respite care for a family caregiver
  • Hone your card playing skills, play your guitar, cook a favorite meal
  • Offer comfort, reassurance or listen to memories, feelings, or fears
  • Make supportive calls or visits for bereavement or spiritual care
  • Help out in the Partners In Care office, Hospice House, or at events

If you're interested in becoming a hospice volunteer, please call our main number to schedule an interview with either of our Volunteer Services Coordinators, Sarah Peterson and Melaine Price. Quarterly training is comprehensive and gives our volunteers the tools needed to be the best volunteers possible. For upcoming volunteer training dates, see our event calendar. To print and fill out an application prior to an initial interview with Sarah or Stephanie, click here: Volunteer Application 2013.pdf
