+Memorial Giving and other types of tribute gifts
Gifts can be made in memory of an individual who has recently died or to commemorate the anniversary of their death. Unless designated otherwise, memorial gifts are used where the need is greatest within the Partners In Care organization. Make a gift now.

Gifts can also be made in honor of an individual or in celebration of a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, or holiday.

All donors receive a thank you letter that serves as a receipt for tax purposes. The family of the deceased or the person you are honoring with your gift also receives notification; the amount of your gift is not mentioned.

Light Up a Life is a non-religious celebration of gratitude and remembrance, held each year at Partners In Care. It is open to the public, free of charge. Names of those who have passed away this year—as well as those for whom we are grateful—are read aloud as candles are lighted in their honor. +Find out about #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday is a national day of giving to kick off the giving season. It is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving; this year it is Tuesday, December 3, 2019. In the same way that retail stores take part in Black Friday, the giving community comes together for #GivingTuesday to celebrate and encourage charitable giving activities.

Partners In Care invites Central Oregon businesses to participate in #GivingTuesday by considering a donation of product, services, discounts, or cash to Partners In Care. Cause-marketing ventures will be considered as well.

Please call Marlene Carlson, Director of Development & Communications, at (541) 322-1299 to discuss your participation in #GivingTuesday.

+Give non-financial gifts in-kind
Donated goods and services enhance the care that Partners In Care is able to provide to patients and their families, as well as support internal operations. In-kind donations that are most needed include:

Office equipment and supplies
Furnishings and equipment for Hospice House
Landscaping services and plant material
Commercially-prepared food for programs and meetings
Artwork and art-making materials
Books for our library

Please note that all in-kind donations require prior approval to assure that the donation is needed at that time and is appropriate for use by our organization. Partners In Care does not accept the donation of durable medical equipment or leftover supplies used in patient care.

+Give through United Way
Partners In Care receives contributions given through United Way of Deschutes County (UWDC). Designated as an Unfunded Partner Agency, Partners In Care complies with UWDC policies and supports its mission. See Community Partners for a link to UWDC. To give to Partners In Care through United Way, simply write us in on your UWDC pledge form at work.
+Matching gifts and current challenge gift opportunities
Multiply the value of your gift by participating in a matching gift program established by your employer. Contact the Human Resources Department at your place of employment to learn if such a program is offered. If it is, simply obtain a matching gift form from your company and follow the instructions on the form when you make your donation. Then, when you make a donation to Partners In Care, your company will also make a gift to Partners In Care; in some cases, doubling the amount of your gift.
+Think about giving through your will, trust, or estate plan
To help Partners In Care fulfill its mission in perpetuity, you’ll need to set up a Will or Trust to communicate your wishes. After providing for family and loved ones in your Will, you can name Partners In Care as a percentage beneficiary of your estate, or designate a specific dollar amount. After your death or a term of years, Partners In Care receives your gift.

A planned gift helps express your own personal legacy. Your gift can be restricted or designated to an area of service most meaningful to you. To learn more, contact Marlene Carlson, Director of Development & Communications, to discuss the benefits of planning now for your eventual gift. Call (541) 706-1335 or email

+Establish a named endowment
An endowment gift is a contribution that is established as “principal” and held in a permanent investment account. Only a portion of each year’s earnings – above and beyond the principal – is released for the purpose stated by the donor. The rest is reinvested, increasing the principal in the account. Donors may establish their own endowed funds at Partners In Care with a total gift of $25,000, which can be fulfilled over time. Or any amount can be contributed to the Partners In Care Endowment Fund established at the Oregon Community Foundation.
